2014-07-13 · I took my steri strips off very quickly after op no damage I assume u have stitches in place so I would remove and just cover lightly with gauze. The strips do keep it together and keep germs out but that reaction has to be doing more harm than good will post u a pick of mine shortly I had it done 2 weeks ago and the strips were off within days.

I had my c-section 10 days ago and was told the steri-strips would start to come off on their own in about 6 days or I can remove them. They are all still intact and I'm too scared to remove them myself. I read they should be taken off a week following surgery.

Yesterday I removed the steri strips over my incision and almost immediately got a raised red welt like rash surrounding the incision.

That way the parts of the wound underneath the steristrip can get some air which will increase healing. You don't need them anymore after a couple of days, so two weeks is totally safe.
